This project explores the identity, cultural conflicts, and growth transformation of Chinese overseas students in the UK through the image form of nonlinear narrative, and forms a collective portrait-style expression of the "study abroad experience" with personalized visual language.
A comic book about identity. A story about a boy and a bisexual relationship based on my personal experience. Due to the special circumstances of the LGBTQ community in China, there are some people who go about their lives hiding their identities. This also includes some bisexuals, who eventually choose to marry girls to relieve the pressure brought to them by society and family. This is also like the human beings who live in hiding in the darkness. Like the name of the story ‘we can only meet in the midnight’. The hero of the story is like his bisexual boyfriend in that their story takes place at night.
