This project was completed during the first semester at GSA, inspired by the collection at the Hunterian Art Gallery. The second floor houses Hunterian's collection of medical items, including many specimens preserved in formalin-filled bottles. This evoked memories of my childhood spent living in the hospital where my mother worked. At that time, I frequently encountered medical specimens and human skeletons. This also reminded me of my own fragile health and the unique experiences I had with my teeth, nose, knees, and digestive system. I imagined myself as one of Hunterain's collection pieces and created this series of works.
This is my first travel picture book, which was my graduation project for my first master's degree. It depicts my travels in northwestern Sichuan, China.
This project explores the relationships between people and society, starting from the inner feelings of the creator. The animation revolves around Shanghai Metro Line 4, as it is the only circular metro line and represents the protagonist's confusion and uncertainty.
This project serves as research for another initiative, analysing why many Chinese gay men appear strikingly similar to outsiders. It explores which types of gay men are most popular in China and what shared characteristics they possess. I selected 30 individuals with over 10,000 followers on social media platforms to create and analyse portrait profiles.
This is meant to satirise how Chinese gay men all look similar, with everyone's tastes and aesthetic preferences being rather uniform. It's as if they're churned out by a factory – possessing just a few key elements makes one instantly popular.
